YARD SALE FOR THE CURE PRIVACY COMMITMENT
By registering your Yard Sale and clicking “Agree to Use of Personal Information”, you have consented to the use, collection and disclosure of certain personal information.  Please be assured Yard Sale for the Cure respects the privacy of your personal information.   As described below, we use this information for purposes connected with this event and our charitable goals.

Whether you are hosting Yard Sale, volunteering, or making a donation to your chosen charity, the types of personal information that we ask for include your name, address, address of your Yard Sale (if different from your mailing address), phone number, e-mail and credit card information, the types of items you are selling, how much you raise and which charity you have chosen to donate the money raised.  

We use this information for the purposes of registering your Yard Sale and to send you information relating to your Yard Sale and the overall Yard Sale for the Cure fundraising initiative, both before and after the event.  For example, we will send you information to assist you with setting up your Yard Sale and collecting donations, we will contact you before the event to remind you of the date and we will contact you after the event to let you know how we did and to thank you for your involvement.    We will also let you know about future Yard Sale for the Cure Events. 

We will list your Yard Sale location and details of the types of items you have for sale in a search engine so that interested people can find out the location of Yard Sales and the kind it items that may be sold.

We also need the above information, as well as your credit card information, to ensure the charity of your choice receives your donation.   Yard Sale for the Cure is a registered charity.  We are partnering with other registered charities The Canadian Breast Cancer Foundation – Ontario Chapter; The Canadian Breast Cancer Foundation – Prairies/NWT Chapter; The Campbell Family Institute for Breast Cancer Research at Princess Margaret Hospital; Toronto East General Hospital Oncology Unit; Southlake Regional Cancer Centre; Alberta Cancer Foundation- Cross Cancer Institute; Betty Wallace Women's Health Centre at Trillium Health Centre; The Carlo Fidani Peel Regional Cancer Centre at the Credit Valley Hospital; Perterborough Regional Health Centre Foundation; Sunnybrook Hospital; and, St. Joseph's Health Centre.  You choose to which registered charity you wish to donate the funds raised from your Yard Sale.     dthree has retained a third party company, Moneris, which will process your credit card information in a secure environment.    Your personal information, including credit card information, will be processed by dthree and Moneris. In turn, we will forward your money to the charity that you have chosen or direct it to one of the designated charities if you do not choose one for us. We will forward you a charitable receipt once successfully charging your credit card or having your cheque clear our bank account.  We will not forward your personal information to any of the end recipient charities.

Yard Sale for the Cure needs to keep information required for your tax receipt on file according to its own privacy policies and pursuant to regulations governing registered charities.

We may ask you to create a password to which we will have access.  This is for your protection to protect against error and fraud and to verify your identity. 

Traffic Patterns and Cookies
Our servers record information such as IP addresses, operating system, number, time and duration of visits, Web pages requested and domain names and browser types.  We do not in the normal course link server log information to other personal information in order to identify individual visitors.  However, for your protection we may review server logs for security reasons.  

We use "cookies", a common Internet technology which provides you with tailored navigation and content based on your navigation history and preferences.  You can set your browser to notify you when you receive a "cookie" giving you the opportunity to accept or to refuse it.  

Retention
Yard Sale for the Cure will retain your personal information only as long as necessary for fulfillment of the above purposes, as required by the registered charities (pursuant to regulations which govern them and their own privacy policies) or as required by law.

Website Security
We have taken reasonable measures to safeguard against unauthorized access to your personal information and to securely store your personal information.  However, you will appreciate the Internet is not a secure medium.  The privacy of your communications and personal information can never be guaranteed.    Yard Sale for the Cure and dthree do not control other websites or the websites of the charities we may ink to.

INQUIRIES AND WITHDRAWING CONSENT
